The Auckland Highland Games are being held on Saturday, November 19th This is a whole day of activity with dancing in 2 brackets, around early afternoon and mid-afternoon – precise times to be confirmed but usually one hour apart. For Scottish country dancing there will be a mass display of sets in traditional set formation, and it includes dancers from elementary to very advanced. The main criterion is dancing rhythmically with other people. The dances: Details of the dances are below, with the number of times these will be danced through each. The Linton Ploughman will be danced 3 times, (top 2 and bottom 2 couples, then middle couples, then top and bottom couples again). None of the dances are difficult. 1st Bracket:- The same medley that was done at the North Shore Tattoo: Cumberland Reel - once 4CJ Bk 1 - 11 12 Coates Cres – once 4CS Bk 40 - 5 Eric’s Jubilee - once 4CR Goldring – 15 Social dances
This will be followed by a dance in a square set: The Barmkin, 4 couple reel 2nd Graded & Social, R Goldring
